I really love to cook but after work I'm beat, me and my boyfriend like to sit down and have a great meal at night. What are some quick and easy recipes I can whip up after work? Nothing too expensive/time consuming/over the top, just a simple meal that is quick, affordable, and down right delicious. What are some quick and easy recipes i can cook at home?
How about a steak?
(Serve for 2)
Ingredients:
- Your preferred meat, something like a scotch/eye fillet?
- Buy a garlic-steak spice (usually it's like a powder in the bottle)
- Your preferred soy sauce. I use 'kikkoman'
- Salt
How to make:
Marinate your steak for 5 minutes with garlic-steak spice and a bit of salt on both sides.
Pre-heat your pan for a few minutes until it's quite hot. Grilled your marinated steak in low heat until both sides are half done (depending on how would you like to be done). And after it almost cooked, add 1 1/2 tea spoon of soy sauce for each side of the steak. Leave the steak for 2 minutes or less, and it's ready to be served!
Side dishes: Fried fries or mix veg
How easy is that? Steak, sounds expensive yet it's quite cheap when you cook it yourself (not much ingredients) and quick to cook.
Enjoy!
What are some quick and easy recipes i can cook at home?
There are a multitude of cook books on the market that provide recipes for hundreds, if not thousands, of quick and easy meals that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less using simple, easy to obtain ingredients.
If you like fancier meals, but don't have the time or the energy after work to prepare them, try fixing casseroles or other meals that can be refrigerated over the weekend and then reheat them when you get home after work. Pastas and casseroles are great for this.
A slow-cooker is also good for fixing meals to eat when you are too tired after work to do so. Put all your ingredients into the crock pot in the morning before you go to work, and when you get home, your meal will be ready to serve. There are also many cook books for crock pot cooking to give you great ideas.

DIRECTIONS
Place the garlic clove in a pot of salted water, bring the water to boil and add the rigatoni. Cook until al dente. Drain well. Return the pasta to the pot it was cooked in.
While pasta is cooking chop the tomato into 1 inch chunks and place them in a small bowl. Sprinkle the tomato chunks with basil and pour oil over the tomato. Place tomatoes in the pot with pasta. Toss well and eat while warm.
I like to make casseroles. Easy and the leftovers are great. This way you can wind down while the meal is cooking, the recipes I have are easy and include Spaghetti Pizza, Enchilada Casserole or tater tot casserole. You can find them at:

4 large garlic cloves, peeled
1 jar (7 oz) sun-dried tomatoes in oil, undrained
3 cans (14.5 oz each) chicken broth (5 1/4 cups)
1 lb uncooked penne pasta
1 head broccoli (2 cups small florets)
2 medium carrots, peeled
4 oz reduced-fat cream cheese (Neufch芒tel)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
Grated fresh Parmesan cheese and snipped fresh basil (optional)

2. Meanwhile, cut broccoli into small florets; place into Classic Batter Bowl. Cut carrots in half lengthwise; thinly slice crosswise on a bias using Santoku Knife. Drain sun-dried tomatoes; pat dry with a paper towel. Slice tomatoes into thin strips. Add carrots and tomatoes to batter bowl.
3. Cut cream cheese into cubes. Add vegetables, cream cheese, salt and black pepper to Stockpot. Stir until cream cheese is melted and fully incorporated. How many of you teens can cook, really cook, follow recipes, plan a weeks meals and shop for them?
We used to have a stupid class called Home Ec. I never hear of it anymore. Do your mothers teach you to cook other than using the microwave and the toaster oven? How many of you like cooking? How many of you teens can cook, really cook, follow recipes, plan a weeks meals and shop for them?
My grandmother started teaching me how to cook when i was 5 or 6. First it was just helping her in the kitchen; getting bowls and utensils and some ingredients. And then as i grew up she get me more involved with the actual cooking. By the time i was 9 or 10, i could cook some pretty in depth recipes and was making dishes for family holidays. When i lived at home i cooked for my mom and sister and friends and that involved all of the planning. I think it's how i became so organized because there's not much room to fake it when it comes to some recipes. I'm 17 now and unfortunately my grandmother just passed a few months ago, but i've taken over for her and have started teaching my littler cousins how to cook. How many of you teens can cook, really cook, follow recipes, plan a weeks meals and shop for them?
My dads a chef and my moms a waitress, so I've grown up in restaurants. I started helping my mom with dinner as soon as I could and started making dinner for myself and my little brother when I was 10 (just boxed noodles and hotdogs and stuff.) I've never been a great cook, but I started to try new things when I was about 17 because I got sick of the food my mom was making (she makes the same 3 or 4 meals every week.) Now I cook dinner for my family about once a month, and dinner for my boyfriend once a week. If I lived on my own, I'm sure I'd manage to survive on my cooking. And my school did have home ec, but the only things I learned how to make were spagetti and tacos. Oh, and I have a bunch of old cookbooks too! They're the best! They don't require as much high tech stuff as the cookbooks do today.
well im 21, mother of 3. and when i was pregnant with my son (i was 17) all my friends were partying and drinking and doing stuff that i obviously was not about to do pregnant, so i stayed home my whole pregnancy watching the food network, and now 4 years later, im a damn good cook. lol. i have the old betty crocker cookbook, its like from the 60's. and it has EVERYTHING in it.
and plus nowadays alot of ppl dont cook like they used to, you never see ppl eating nice home cooked meals anymore, i love cooking for my kids knowing that their not getting mcdonalds nutrients.lol
and i took home ec in middle school. we made pudding and coffee cake and i sewed a pillow together. lol waste of a class if u ask me, my grandmother taught me all that when i was younger lol
i live in a house with like 10 ppl, so lately ive been making a dinner calendar type of thing. like a lunch menu for school. then i make my grocery list, i buy in bulk so its cheaper and when i get my produce for example green peppers. i cut them up and put them in ziplock bags and freeze em so i have em all month
I am 21 now, got married at age 18, i learned on my own, in my school they didn't have that class and my mom never wanted to teach me (yeah....i know) so i learned on my own. I got really good at it, i can buy a whole month of grocery's and plan for the meals and they come out good. Its a matter of practice
ill be 17 in a month and i always do the cooking at home. chicken parm, shrimp scampi. what ever my parents ask for all i need is a recipe and i can do it. im one of the oldest of 8 so i know how to do a lot of things around the house.
yes i can cook fairly well. home ec is so stupid. there were 4 people making half of a box of pasta, and barely anyone knew what to do. i like cooking a lot. (especiallyy breakfast)
I love cooking and I am very wel with it I cook 3 times a week for 5-8 people [matters if my neighbors are over]

The soups looked good.

Mark's 30-second Bean Soup
1 cup of mixed beans (7-bean, 10-bean etc. - frequently sold in bulk bins)
1 bouillon cube (chicken, beef, vegetable, etc.) or 1 teaspoon bouillon broth powder
The '30 seconds' refers to how long it takes to prepare this soup. I'm really lazy, and almost never pre-soak the beans. Put beans and bouillon in 32 oz. black-painted mason jar. Fill jar with water to within 1 inch of neck line. Seal with black-painted ring and lid (oil the inside parts of the lid and ring first). Cooks in 2.5 to 8 hours depending on conditions, solar cooker type, etc.
Many spaghetti sauces come packed in 26 oz. canning jars. If you've converted one of these 'free' jars into a cooking jar (by painting it black), follow the same recipe except use only 3/4 cup beans.

Solar Veggie Puree
Put an assortment of garden vegetables in a solar cooker. You can use carrots, potato, summer squash, green bean, beet, tomato, winter squash etc. Use what ever method you prefer for the cooking (black painted canning jar, black pot in cooking bag, etc.) You can be creative according to what vegetables you have on hand.
Cook them until tender -- they can be slightly under cooked and still be good.
Puree or mash the cooked vegetables until smooth. Add your favorite seasonings -- salt, pepper, garlic powder, curry powder, ginger, nutmeg etc. You may want to add a bit of water, broth, cream or butter or oil to create the texture you like. That's all there is to it.
Note 1: Potato helps add a smooth texture to the puree so I usually include a few small ones to the group of vegetables. Note 2: raw onion cooked with the other vegetables does not taste as good as saut茅ed onion or onion powder added later. I prefer to add onion powder along with other spices while pureeing.
Today I cooked a few small new potatoes, 2 carrots, a hand full of green beans, 2 summer squash and then pureed them together with a pinch of curry, salt and pepper. I added no broth or cream but it was still VERY GOOD.Name some food or recipes you can cook in a tin can in the sun?
Well, in the movies homeless people usually cook beans in a tin can. I personally would not want to chance cooking anything in a can in the sun, you know there is a little thing called botulism, and salmonella.
Some cook rations on the dashboard. These don't even need that. Never cook anything in the can it came in. Never. Don't store it even in the fridge if opened in the can it came in. Don't use can bent or otherwise damaged. Don't give them away.

What are some easy and healthy recipes I can cook for the family I work for?
I just started a new job as a nanny for a family. One of my job requirements is to plan, shop, and cook for 3 dinner meals a week. The family likes to eat healthy and they like variety (not the same old thing over and over).
Meals I can prepare a few hours in advance and then put in the oven later are the best for me, since I have 3 children to care for. (I can prepare during nap time.)
Thanks! What are some easy and healthy recipes I can cook for the family I work for?

try going to kraftfoods.com. they have recipes for snacks, main courses, desserts, ect. or foodnetwork.com they also have many awesome recipes!!!
Chicken pot pie, spaghetti with veggies in it, currie chicken.
I like tortilla, the spanish version with potatoes.. make it with cooked spinach, well drained..
Put in the pan:
Some olive oil and some butter
Half cooked potatoeslices (you can buy them that way), then a layer of veggies (of which spinach is my fav but be creative), then another layer of the potatoeslices. Put raw eggmixture over it (probably six or so, quantity depends on how big the pan/appetite is) and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes or longer.
You can serve it hot or cold (so also nice for lunch next day!!), Serve with salad.
cook with olive oil like chicken Brest. cook fish you could steam it or cook it with olive oil, vegs are good steamed are the best, white rice is good, for lunch soups are good cheese sandwich (grill) or Turkey sandwich with fresh tomato's or salads with a splash of lemon. for the morning oat meal is good, eggs and toast. that's awsome. well you could always go to a book store and find a cook book too.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup real maple syrup - or any sweet syrup
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 cup beer
4 (10 ounce) beef rib eye steaks
DIRECTIONS
In a medium size mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, pancake syrup, chopped garlic, grated ginger root, sesame oil, Tabasco sauce, and mix well to blend. Now add beer and stir lightly to mix.
Prepare steaks by scoring any fatty outside areas on steak with a knife, (this prevents the steaks from curling when barbecuing). Place steaks in a casserole dish and pour marinade over. Using a fork, punch holes in steaks so that the marinade penetrates into the steaks. Turn steaks over and repeat punching holes.
Cover with clear wrap or foil and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or longer. You can also refrigerate and marinate overnight.
Prepare and preheat barbecue to high heat. Place steaks directly on grill and sear one side for about 15 seconds. Turn steaks over and cook for about 5 minutes, then turn over and cook for another 5 minutes for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Test for doneness by cutting into the middle of the steak.

Is it fresh eel or canned eel ? Fresh eel, the best way to do it is beer battered and fry it.
IF it's canned, you can sauted it with butter, garlic, teriyaki sauce, sweet soy sauce, put a bit of rice wine vinegar, and sesame seeds. Eat it w/ japanese sushi rice.
ingredients:
1 pc. eel about 500 grams ................. oil for frying
1 globes g-arlic med. size....................1 cup fish stock
1 onion
1 yellow ginger cut it into bit/mince
1/2 cup blackbeans in can
onion leaks
first clean the eel remove the skin and the intestine then fried,
saute ginger, garlic, onion then put the black beans, put the fish stock then wait till boiled then put the fried eel until it cook and taste it with fish sauce then put the onion leaks. presto serve it with rice and ripe mango
ell is a easy thing to cook:
1. you must skin it like a catfish and remove the intestines
2.put it in buttermilk soak in fridge for a couple of hours
3 cut it into serving portions
4 roll in corn meal and your favorite fish spices
5. deep fry it on medium high heat
6 most important thing to remember is( serve it hot.
7 do not reheat it. ell spoil es when it has been cooked and allowed to cool.
i fix fries and hush puppy's with mine . and be sure to tell your guest or family to watch for bones it is not boneless
AFTER IT'S CLEANED CUT IT IN 3 INCH PIECES. European eel I like it smoked, with horseraddish...
Eel Recipe
8 pieces of eel - 3 to 4 inches each
2 tbspns lemon juice
2 tbspns vegetable oil
1/2 pint (300ml) red wine
1 large onion - peeled and chopped
2 tbspns fresh parsley
Whole sage leaves
Bacon rashers - enough to wrap the eel
1 egg yolk
2 tbspns cream
Put the eel into a dish and pour over the lemon juice, oil, wine, onion and parsley - leave to marinade for an hour or so.
Remove the eel from the marinade and wrap in sage leaves and then bacon.
Either place these pieces with the join side down into your crockpot or skewer with a cocktail stick or tie with string.
Then pour the marinade over the pieces.
Cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours.
Combine the cream and egg yolk and mix into the sauce - allow it to reheat for 15 mins or so.
If you prefer, you could thicken the sauce with cornflour/arrowroot/cornstarch.How do you cook eel? Recipes please!!?
SLICE THEM DOWN THE MIDDLE SO YOU CAN OPEN THEM UP BUT SO THIER STILL ONE PIECE.DIP THEM IN EGG WASH THEN FLOUR THEN EGGWASH THEM ITIALIAN BREAD CRUMBS.FRY THEM IN A PAN WITH SOME BUTTER AND OLIVE OIL 2TO3 MINUTES PERSIDE DEPENDING ON THICKNESS.LEMON JUICE IS OPTIONAL. It depends on what ingredients you have.
Pork and beans is easy. You need a can of beans or ';pork and beans.'; Open the beans carefully with a can opener. Slice a hotdog and place it in a microwavable dish or on a medium heat stove and cook until warm and bubbly.
Quesidillas are easy, too. Take two pieces of taco bread, tortillas. Spread salsa on one. Spread cheese on that, it should be shredded cheese on the other. Don't put too much of either. Put the second tortilla on top of the first. Place between paper towels (2 are enough) and microwave for 90 seconds.
Fruit is good. Cut it up and you can dip it if you like, in peanut butter or something like that. You can also go to www.google.com and put ';children's cooking'; or ';recipes for kids'; in the search engine.

How do people in the middle east cook ground beef? Recipes anyone?
Indians make kheema (spicy ground beef)
I know Middle east folk make kebabs from ground lamb. But ground beef... I am keen to know. Looking for ethnic recipes with ground beef. Thanks to all who provided me with Mo bo dofu, the chinese way to make ground beef. It was great! How do people in the middle east cook ground beef? Recipes anyone?
I am half Iranian and we make a popular dish called Chello-kabab.
You mix the ground beef with finely diced onion, lime juice, salt and pepper. Cook on the grill over charcoal along with small whole tomatoes and serve with basmati rice. I never measure. If you like onion...put in all you want. The juice of one lime should be enough. I sometimes cook this in the oven on broil, but it is best on the grill. We sprinkle ground sumac over the meat and rice. This is a very sour, dark red powder that you might be able to get at an asian market or order online. How do people in the middle east cook ground beef? Recipes anyone?
Add about a teaspoon each of cinnamon and allspice, 1/2 ts of nutmeg and black pepper. Salt to taste and saute with a finely chopped onion. This is the base of rice stuffing, kibbe, Arabic style samosas...
I thought cows were sacred in the middle east
There are many countries in the Middle East. But I went to a local market and ate some very large meatball looking food. When I started eating it, I found an assortment of vegetables inside, that had been sauteed. I don't know the name of the dish; but I did watch a lady prepare the food
But the meat is not actually ground up like USA hamburger; it is more chunky than ground beef and more tender. The beef fat is used for other dishes.
HI I am from Persia, we roast at first onion until it reaches a golden color than add to it some turmeric and finally add the meat with some tomato paste salt and pepper and some fresh lemon juice and just a knife tip Cinnamon!

What are good, easy, fun recipes to cook with my boyfriend?
i'm planning a night with my boyfriend wednesday who lives on campus in an apartment with a kitchen...i think it'd be fun to cook dinner together...however i'd like some ideas of what to make. something not too hard, yet fun and obviously DELICIOUS! thanks! What are good, easy, fun recipes to cook with my boyfriend?
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but here are a few favorites my husband and I like to cook together...
Pasta...
Chicken Scampi
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried oregano
3 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 tsp salt
1 Tbsp lemon juice
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, sliced lengthwise into thirds
In a skillet heat the butter and olive oil on medium high heat until butter is melted. Add parsley, basil, oregano, garlic and salt and mix together. Stir in lemon juice.
Then add chicken pieces and saute for 3 minutes or until white. Lower the heat and cook for about 10-15 mintues or until chicken is cooked through. More butter can be added if needed. Serve chicken over hot angel hair, or other pasta and pour some of the sauce over it all.
Creamy Alfredo Sauce
8 ounces dry fettuccine pasta
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1 pinch ground nutmeg
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
In a medium saucepan, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, margarine, milk, garlic powder and basil and stir over low heat until smooth and creamy, 10 to 15 minutes. Toss sauce with pasta and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve.
You can add some grilled chicken or cooked shrimp to the above and pour over hot pasta....wonderful!!
Mexican...
This is my husband's burrito recipe...if you really like smothered burritos, if we don't have time to make our own green chili, we go to a local restaurant and order a quart of their chili to smother our burritos. They are wonderful!!!
Sean鈥檚 Best Burritos Ever鈥?br>
1 lb. hamburger
1 can refried beans with lime
4 little cans chopped green chilis
1 Tbsp. Cumin
Sharp cheddar cheese
1 pkg flour torillas
Sour cream (optional)
Salsa (optional)
Brown the hamburger. Drain the grease. Combine the beans, chilis and cumin. Cook until hot. Put 1/4 cup cheese in tortilla and microwave for 20 seconds. Fill with meat mixure and sour cream and salsa. Fold. Enjoy. What are good, easy, fun recipes to cook with my boyfriend?
You could do a big pan of real nachos, with taco beef, shredded cheese, jalapenos, sliced black olives, sliced green onions. Just spread chips out on a baking pan, pile on the toppings and bake until melted and yummy.
Another easy option would be frozen ravioli or tortellini, your favorite red sauce or store bought alfredo, homemade garlic bread and a salad.
I'm not sure if you are looking for just appetizers or dinner or both. I think your best bet is to check out my 2 favorite websites they both have great recipes and nothing too difficult.

Hi guys, i am pure south Indian vegetarian can u help me, how to cook easy microwave recipes?
i want only vegetarian recipes ,guide me suitable dishes %26amp; websites .Pls help me .Hi guys, i am pure south Indian vegetarian can u help me, how to cook easy microwave recipes?
Microwaves kill food. Don't use them to cook with.Hi guys, i am pure south Indian vegetarian can u help me, how to cook easy microwave recipes?
You can cook plenty of meals entirely in the microwave. Spaghetti, for example, is super easy to make in the microwave. Simply heat the sauce and some frozen veggies. Then use a no-drain method to cook the pasta. Just place a few ounces of pasta in a glass casserole, cover with about two cups of water, and microwave for about ten minutes, stirring halfway through cooking.
There are lots of websites with microwave vegetarian recipes. Check these out:

Hi, i have two children aged 6 and 3.5 years old, we eat most things but i want to do more home cooking. Has anybody got healthy and cheap recipes that dont take hours to make???Has anybody got cheap, quick to cook, healthy family recipes?
Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 (4 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces
3 cups vegetable oil
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup milk
In a medium bowl, beat together 1/2 cup milk and egg. In a resealable plastic bag, mix together the flour, garlic salt, paprika, pepper and poultry seasoning. Place chicken in bag, seal, and shake to coat. Dip chicken in milk and egg mixture, then once more in flour mixture. Reserve any remaining flour mixture.
In a large skillet, heat oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C). Place coated chicken in the hot oil, and brown on all sides. Reduce heat to medium-low, and continue cooking chicken until tender, about 30 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet, and drain on paper towels.
Discard all but 2 tablespoons of the frying oil. Over low heat, stir in 2 tablespoons of the reserved flour mixture. Stirring constantly, cook about 2 minutes. Whisk in chicken stock, scraping browned bits off bottom of skillet. Stir in 1 cup milk, and bring all to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 5 minutes. Serve immediately with the chicken.

Wipe out the skillet, return to stove, and pour in vegetable oil. Stir in mushrooms and onion, and cook until onion is soft and translucent.
When the potatoes are done, drain water, and place potatoes in a large bowl. Mash in butter and ranch dressing. With a potato masher or electric mixer, continue to mash until the potatoes are smooth. Stir in the mushrooms, onions, and crumbled bacon.

****************************Has anybody got cheap, quick to cook, healthy family recipes?
Chicken burgers are always good and easy to make healthy.
I grill Turkish bread instead of normal rolls as it is lighter and thinner, sometimes I baste the chicken in Portugese spices but the kidlets might not like this so much. I put cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, a smear of sweet chili sauce (again, optional for kidlets) on one half and mayo on the other half of the bread.
Or if the kids don't mind tuna, throw together in a saucepan a can of tomatoes, a tablespoon of tomato paste, a little garlic and mixed herbs, a diced onion and a can of tuna. Serve over pasta. Shouldn't take any longer to make than it takes the pasta to cook.
I make a lot of quick stovetop casseroles.
To do this I keep on hand:
sour cream
cheese
cream of mushroom or chicken soup
whole grain pasta
instant brown rice
tuna or frozen chicken tenderloins or hamburger
petite diced canned tomatoes
garlic
onions (frozen prechopped work well or green onions are fast to chop)
tomato paste
Vermouth
frozen veggies
So, if I need a quick meal I decide if I want a pasta or rice casserole and measure out how much I need, and put the water onto boil.
Creamy Casserole
Then I saute hamburger or chicken (cut into chunks) in frying pan. When browned drain excess grease and remove meat.
Put onions in pan and saute (scraping up any fond on pan)
When soft and translucent, add 1/2 - 2 teaspoons of garlic
saute for 30 seconds then add a little vermouth
Then add a can of creamed soup and some sour cream
When pasta or rice is done, drain excess water and mix all ingredients together (add as much cheese at this time as desired) Stir over medium heat until cheese is melted and all ingredients are incorporated. You can add any frozen veggies you like that you've warmed up in microwave at the end. Salt and pepper to taste.
(For tuna casserole skip browning meat and go straight to sauteing onions, just use a little olive oil to saute them.)
Goulash
Start pasta.
Fry hamburger, drain grease, saute onions and garlic as in creamed casserole.
Add diced tomatoes, small can of tomato paste, 1/2 c. water
Let simmer for a minute or two.
Add hungarian paprika if you have it, if not then a pinch cayenne
Stir in more water if needed to keep sauce loose.
When pasta is done, drain it and combine ingredients.
Stir in a bit of sour cream if you like.
1kg or 2lb of mince (ground beef I think in USA) brown in electric fry-pan, bacon, salami, tomatoes with salt/pepper any spices you like %26amp; any vegetables you like, chuck a can of tomato soup and cook thru serve with garlic bread or lovely fresh bread rolls. Left overs for breakfast/lunch next day or if you don't like it the dog loves it. I like the mince recipies as they are in one pan and you can me sooooo many different, curry mince etc
Hi there,
I don't know if you wanted to get your kids involved in the cooking process but I recently read an article that provides some great kid friendly recipes. My step daughter and I have already made 2 of the recipes. The fruit with dip was great. Not all the recipes are healthy but the fruit one is and the Ants on a Log recipe would also be healthy. COLA CHICKEN
(And more variations of recipe)
(My favorite: Wings or Ribs)
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1 cup catsup
1 12oz. can cola (pepsi, coke, etc.)
Put chicken in a non-stick pan.
Mix together catsup and cola, pour over chicken.
Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and cook 45 minutes.
(turning chicken a few times, while cooking...to prevent from
sticking to pan)
Uncover, turn up the heat and continue to cook until the sauce
becomes thick and adheres to the chicken.
It turns into the most incredible BBQ sauce. Yummmm!
You can double the recipe and use more pieces of
chicken....wings...would be ideal...add some hot
sauce....presto ';Hot
Wings';!
I have used Ribs, just as good.
I tried this recipe with 'meatballs'....was equally
as good...served over rice.
I found another variation.....omit the catsup and add a small
jar of Salsa (any variety).
I have tried using Salsa (omitting the catsup....not).
You'd think a recipe with only '3' ingredients couldn't be
messed up....wouldn't you??
Well...while I was preparing to fix the 'Cola Chicken' recipe
using Salsa.....I was also trying to carry on a conversation with my
husband...(just proves...I can't do two things at once)....mixed
Salsa %26amp; Catsup (before I realized I was supposed to leave out
the catsup) %26amp; Cola........still turned out really tasty (to me)...might
be a little sweeter than some of you like.
I fixed chicken wings, (using the above recipe)
but...I added the spices from a MILD (I don't care for ';HOT';) Buffalo Wings packet...(the kind you get to bake in the oven).....I thought it was really good.....(but you/I can't find a 'bad' way to fix chicken).
Finally....!! I fixed the 'SALSA' chicken......that's good , too.
Another (bright)idea.....I thought of trying......replace the
catsup with a bottle of Shrimp Cocktail Sauce...and add a bag of (pop corn) shrimp.....!
Fixed the shrimp with cocktail sauce......eh...wasn't all that
great...was OK...probably won't be fixing it again.
Also tried beef stew cuts......that was pretty good.....I can see
myself making this again.
Served both over rice.....think the stew cuts would have been just as
good over noodles.
How about using the little cocktail wieners/sausages?
Gonna try some butterfly cut pork chops鈥?boneless pork chops鈥?.pork steak.
How about Vienna Sausages ?? Ummm!

CHILLI DOG CASSEROLE
1 pkg. (8) hot dog buns

1 small onion (chopped)
2 cups shredded cheese
mustard
DIRECTIONS: Pre-heat oven 350 degrees
In a 9'; x 13'; baking pan, break up hot dog buns (bite size) and spread in pan.
Cut up hot dogs (about 1/2'; size) spread over buns.
Spoon/spread chilli over hot dog/buns.
Sprinkle onions over all.
Squirt mustard over entire mixture (don't spread...just make a few lines both ways across mixture)
Cover with shredded cheese.
Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly.
(Hint: If using extra hot dogs %26amp; chilli, don't add extra buns.)
';Canned Soup';.
(My Way!)
Whatever cans of veggies I have, that I like, in cabinet it goes in the pot.....along with all the juices in the cans.
Cook on stove top or Crock pot.
Enjoy!
Canned:
corn
peas
carrots
gr.beans (any variety)
lima beans
wax beans
tomato (any variety)
potatoes (whole or sliced...or both whatever you like)
You get the idea....lol.
Also add a package of shredded cabbage (cole slaw mix).
You can even add a package of onion soup mix.
If it gets to dry and needs more liquids....add tomato juice...V-8...etc.
(I鈥檝e not made this one yet)

';Corny Beanie Weenies.';
(from a country preacher in Mississippi鈥ife %26amp; 2 teenage sons)
Mix one can of good baked beans
We use a good sized can of beans (14-16 ounces, I think) and
get a kind that we like (maybe with brown sugar, onion, and bacon).
There are several kinds of good baked beans.
and a package of Oscar Meier Weiners (all sliced up).
with a can of whole kernel corn (drained)
Any way, heat up these three ingredients, and serve with brown bread
(maybe toasted ?) and a glass of milk.
It doesn't get any easier than this, and is suprisingly good!
P.S鈥?.Might put ingredients in a casserole dish and top with corn muffin mix.
POT ROAST
Your choice of beef or pork (to fit crock-pot)
1 pkg. dry Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg. dry Italian dressing mix
1 pkg. dry Brown Gravy mix
1 cup water
Put beef in pot.
Mix together all the dry mixes鈥?then add water 鈥our over meat and cover %26amp; cook on high 4-6 hours.
Until meat is tender.
The first time I mad it I didn鈥檛 have the Italian Dressing mix鈥?so I added a pkg. of Onion Soup Mix鈥?I have to say I liked that better.
If you use more water you might want to add more Brown Gravy mix鈥?to make a thicker sauce. Was gonna add
potatoes and carrots鈥ut never got around to it.
Mock Ice Cream Bar
2 whole graham crackers
Cool Whip
Spread a thin layer of Cool Whip on 1 whole cracker鈥?top with remaining cracker鈥?freeze.
Make several at a time.
Melt some chocolate and drizzle over top before freezing.

Ummm!

1 can cream of mushroom soup.
1 can water
Place chicken in crock pot (or sauce pan for stove top cooking)
mix soup %26amp; 1 can of water together
pour over chicken
cook on medium heat until boiling then reduce heat and cook until chicken is really tender %26amp; falling apart.
Serve over noodles or rice or dressing....or???
CHILLI DOG CASSEROLE
1 pkg. (8) hot dog buns
1 pkg. (8) hot dogs (use more if you like)
1 can Chilli (15 oz. without beans, use more if you want)

';Corny Beanie Weenies.';

1 pkg. dry Brown Gravy mix
1 cup water
