It's for a bolognese sauce. It needs to simmer for like four hours, but it's easy and was featured in an article about romantic cooking.

My advice is not just to be limited to recipes. Cooking with a skillet is very open to experiment, so I suggest just cooking up some chicken or ground beef (or vegetarian alternatives like chick peas or beans) in olive oil (or canola, if you want a less fattening oil), trying out some different spices and sauces, adding some chopped veggies and putting it all over some pasta or rice (or put it in a wrap). You'll get some crap, but you'll probably invent some favourites too.
I have a good one for breakfast. Ed's shred

mix everything together in a bowl (after a good drain of the potato)

Make into pattys of individual serving size and fry in olive oil
