What are some good cooking recipes for pre teens to cook (w/o help from parents) ?

I need to know some good easy recipes that serve about 4 that a pre teen can cook w/o any help. Thanks.What are some good cooking recipes for pre teens to cook (w/o help from parents) ?

If your looking for a meal I made a really nice easy risotto that I found in the back of a Abborro Rice packet.





I also found a really nice children safe microwave chocolate brownie recipe
Pita Pizzas





pita bread -put on cookie sheet and preheat oven 425F


2 tblsp. pasta sauce(For each pita)


grated cheese


diced up (ham or salami, or cooked saucege....whatever sandwich meat you want)


sliced onion(or whatever topping you fancy-tomatoes, green pepper, pineapple??)





cook in preheated 425F oven for 8-10min*


toss green salad to go with meal

Leftover Chicken....sliced up


get a fajita rollup ...add lettuce, mayo, tomatoe and chicken*..and a ceasar salad

Chilli*





fry up 1 lb of ground beef,in a pot... drain put back into pot


add 1 diced onion


1/2 diced green pepper...cook onion , green pepper and meat till onions a bit soft


add 1-2 cloves fresh garlic diced fine ,(or 1/2 tsp.garlic powder)


add salt, pepper to taste


1 can Drained/Rinsed Red Kidney beans


1 can tomatoes (crushed, whole, doesn't matter)


3 tbsp. chilli powder,


mix all together in Pot , put lid on, cook low-medium heat for about 40min* or longer if you like simmering......add fresh loaf bread or make garlic bread*


you can also add 5min rice with chilli ontop*


or add chilli the next day ontop of a baked potato for your fibre*

sub sandwiches (assorted sandwich meats...sliced tomatoes etc)they can make themselves*

Tacos. Make them with ground turkey or ground beef. Buy a packet of taco seasoning from the grocery store and just follow the directions. You can get soft and/or hard shells and whatever toppings your family likes. Depending on your knife skills you can get most of the toppings already chopped.
When it comes to any kind of work around the home and it involves children I believe you let the child choose the menu. If you are more comfortable with the protein source ask them what dishes they enjoy form it and then set about designing a child friendly menu. It will work. Or better yet let them create the recipe.

1 pound hamburger


1 package taco seasoning


1 package flour tortillas


1 pound cheese shredded


1 can refried beans


lettuce


tomato


onion


sour cream





cook burger and drain, add 3/4 cup water and taco seasoning


in a 9by 13 baking dish layer flour tortillas, burger and cheese, keep repeating until pan is full





bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees





serve topped with lettuce, tomato,onions, refried beans, sour cream and salsa

tacos are pretty easy
I am also a pre teen and i cook pizza bymyself all the time. For breakfast, you could make pancakes.

1 can of 10 refidgerated biscuts


3 T of butter


3Tof sugar and brown sugar


1 t of cinnamon


preheat oven to 375. Grease and 8 in or 9in cake pan


cut bisuts into 4ths


melt butter


mix cinnamon, sugar, and brown sugar


dip biscuts into butter then in sugar mixture.


Bake 15-20 min.


Enjoy
SPICY CHICKEN


2-1/2 - 3 lbs. chicken pieces


1 (8 oz) bottle Russian or French salad dressing


1 package dry onion soup mix


1 small jar apricot or apricot-pineapple preserves


Arrange chicken, skin side up, in buttered shallow baking pan. Mix dressing, soup mix and preserves in a bowl and pour over the chicken pieces. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Serves 4-6





Serve with a green salad and a packaged rice mix





LEMONADE PIE


1 large container Cool Whip


1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade concentrated, thawed, undiluted


1 can Eagle Brand sweetened, condensed milk


1 9'; graham cracker crust, (storebought)


Mix everything together (except crust) really well in a bowl, and pour into pie crust. Can put some extra Cool Whip on top, if you want. Chill at least 4 hours before serving
